Nan Was Always a Badass

Nan AspinwallNan “Two-Gun” Aspinwall was born sometime around 1880, she was an Oriental dancer, sharp-shooter, trick roping expert, and a vaudeville actress…got all of that.  Goes without saying she was pretty well rounded.  To tack some more on there, she was the very first woman to ride horseback across North America alone.  She rode from San Francisco to New York in 1910-11 on a bet from Buffalo Bill, whose famous Wild West show she performed in with her husband.  She is “Princess Omene” in this photo.  Despite living in a dangerous time, and taking risks that most men would not even take she lived to a ripe old age and died in 1964.
