Children of the Revolution

I was and am a child of the 80’s there is nothing I can do about it.  I turn on the radio and the Thompson Twins or Duran Duran is on and I am transfixed.  You do not want to be around me when I am flipping through the channels and find Miami Vice reruns on!! There will be some squealing going on and your ears will ring with my recount of every little detail of what Friday nights and Miami Vice meant to me. How it’s pastel glory spoke to my heart.  I am not saying any of this was first-rate programming or even all that good of music but in the words of Spandau Ballet, “This is the sound of my soul, this is the sound. (Ha-ha-ha, ha-ha-hi) I know this much is truuuu-eeewww” . Did you check out the title even?  Ummm, hello Violent Femmes!!  I still have the 45, yes I said 45, and if you do not know what that is you can…never mind, it is rude to judge people for their age!

ANYWAY!!

I stumbled across this picture I did some squealing! It was like a bouquet of hardcore 80’s chicks!!!  I know, I know they look like little kitties compared to what they bled into when the 90’s rolled around, like L-7 (did you get my icky pun there?? Stage? Tampon? If you didn’t then you are way too young to be reading this!!).

But here you go!! Some bad ass bitches!!  Or I am trying to remember what we called hardcore chicks then?  Totally tubular? Oh wait!! Totally Bitchen!!

*I saw Siouxsie and the Banshee’s and Lalapaloosa a million years ago and totally bitchen they proved to be!Image

I had to take a close look to see that was Debbie Harry… wow.
I just found a box full of 45’s the other day, and I’ve only got one of the yellow plastic thingies left to go in them. What will I do if it breaks!?
